Harmony Acres Dairy aims to provide wholesome, delicious food to the Southwest Region of Pennsylvania through our farm stand at Orr Agriculture. We're the Orrs, dairy farming in Southwest, PA, working on regenerating our land and bottling creamline milk from our family's dairy herd. We firmly believe in strong regenerative agricultural practices, not just sustaining what we have but making the land better for future generations. Our kiddos are the 5th generation living at our current location in Belle Vernon, PA. Harmony Acres is a woman-owned business operated by Jen in tandem with her husband Jeff, who owns and operates all farming aspects. The store at Harmony Acres Dairy is lovingly referred to as Jen's Jug Hut. We are open on the farm 5 days a week to provide our local community with an array of farm fresh products. Along with everything we produce ourselves we bring together goods, produce, meat and more from other local farmers to stock the store. We thrive on sharing community agriculture with our neighbors and strive to bring our customers the most nutritious, wholesome products around. Additionally, we host a farmer’s market every Wednesday 3-6PM, May-October referred to as Market on the Farm. Every week nearly 20 vendors join us with fresh produce, local meat, artisan goods, food trucks and more. We are excited to bring together so many amazing vendors each week and open up the farm to promote our local agriculture community and local commerce. At Harmony Acres Dairy we produce creamline milk, freshly churned butter and offer a variety of cheese products made from our milk. We believe in keeping the milk as minimally processed as possible, just as nature intended. To ensure a safe food product for all, we lightly pasteurize our milk at 145 degrees for 30 minutes, which is the state-required minimum. Our milk is non-homogenized, meaning all the natural creamy goodness is left in. Homogenization alters the molecular state of milk by breaking up the cream molecules in the milk. By leaving it in its natural state our milk is creamier and a bit sweeter than homogenized milk, allowing folks to romanticize about getting milk delivered to their doorstep as a child! Each week we bottle fresh batches of white and chocolate milk and rotate through various flavors such as our natural strawberry, maple, iced lattes, cookies & cream, seasonal milks like pumpkin and eggnog and many more! Just remember to shake the jug to redistribute the cream before drinking. Or, if you prefer, skim off the cream and use it as heavy cream - simple as that!
