Fall Family Fun at Triple B Farm

Enjoy fun for the whole family this fall at Triple B Farms!

By Mandie Cohen September 14, 2025

Every year, our family makes a trip down to Monongahela, PA to Triple B Farms for all the Fall fun that they have to offer. We always go with our family friends to make the experience even more fun with the kids by having their besties tag along with them. Our kids (and us) love going to Triple B Farms for so many reasons but for us, it's the tradition and creating new memories with our families that will last a lifetime. Every time we go, there’s nothing but smiles - even if the weather is too chilly or if it’s unseasonably warm and mom (a.k.a. me) still makes them wear sweaters for the “Fall vibes”. We have 8 things that are a “MUST DO” when we go to Triple B Farms every year as part of our family tradition.

Quick Tip: Purchase your Farm Fall Fun ticket online to beat the long lines. This allows for more time to have fun on the farm with your family!

1. Go Apple Picking Together

We love going to the apple orchards to pick the best apples for us to eat and bake with. The kids love to make it a contest to see who picked the most apples. Check out some of our favorite apple recipes on our Fall Recipes guide here. The apple orchards are also a great place to snap some cute family photos too!

2. Hunt for the Perfect Pumpkin

This might be a hot take, but the gourds with the bumps on them and are all different colors are my absolute favorite and I think make for the best pumpkins to set out on your front porch with hay stacks and corn stalks. We, of course, also get the classic giant orange pumpkins for carving too. Our family likes to be a bit over-the-top with carving and chose crazy or very detailed oriented themes for our pumpkins. We have carved the Pittsburgh Penguins logo one year, we’ve done an outline of our Shiba Inu puppy another year, plus Spider man and more. This year, if I had to guess, we’re probably doing Bluey.

There are different areas across the farm to choose pumpkins from. I personally like going into the actual pumpkin patch and making it a contest with the kids (and husband) to find the biggest and brightest pumpkin. Whoever finds the best pumpkin, chooses the design that will be carved into it.

3. Get Lost in the Corn Maze

Since the kids are still pretty little in our family, I won’t lie -  the corn maze gives me anxiety every time because I am afraid of losing one (joking of course) BUT the kids absolutely love it. They love the challenge of trying to make their way through the maze and finding their way out. We do let them lead even if it means we’re spending the next hour in there. I do feel that it does actually help them work together and learn to problem solve on their own - even if I’m panicking the entire time. Once they’re a bit older though, I’m sure I will be less anxious about it and I can send them off on their own. There are two corn mazes located on the farm. One is located next to the Play Barn while the other is towards the top of the hill next to the jumping pillows. We really like the one on the lower side of the farm because there is a raised walkway that allows you to see down into the maze.

4. Enjoy a Hayride

One thing about kids, they love a good hayride and Triple B Farms has one of the best. They’ll take you around the farm to check it out and bring you right to the flower fields and pumpkin patches (or apple orchards). We love doing the hayride because the walk to the patches can be a bit long on foot and it's nice to just be able to sit for a moment. Plus, gives a bit of a break from chasing the really small ones around for a moment.

5. Taste the Fall Treats

Pumpkin spice and everything nice is what you’ll find in the food barn at Triple B Farms. You HAVE to try their apple donuts. They are so delicious and it’s the perfect little treat when out on the farm. It’s a fan favorite for everyone in the family. Also be sure to get their cheese fries! Every weekend, there are special vendors that set up either their own food/drink truck or tent as well so be sure to check those out and help support local businesses!

6. Visit the Farm Animals

Seeing the farm animals is always a fun activity for the kids. There are goats to feed and other animals to see. Plus this is a great opportunity for the kids to learn about the animals on the farm. Though we are a chicken family already and have our own at home, the kids still love to visit the baby chicks located by the goatwalk section. (They will also try to name them all.)

7. Take a Family Photo in the Flower Fields or Pumpkin Patch

It isn’t truly Fall until you dress everyone in sweaters on an unseasonably warm October day in Pennsylvania and take pictures in the flower fields and pumpkin patches and listen to the kids complain that they’re hot and husbands ask “did you take enough photos?” (The answer is “the limit does not exist”.) One thing I’ve learned is if it is really warm on days that you go, have a t- shirt underneath their sweaters or flannels and tie it around their waist after photos are done. We typically try to do this first anyway so the kids don’t get too hot and aren’t too tired so the smiles are fresh.

8. Fall Family Fun Activities

Last but certainly not least, we love to let the kids run free in the Fall Family Fun Activity area. There are so many activities for the little ones to do. From a giant piano, jumping pillows, and newly updated, the Squirrel Hill Tunnel Slides. Be sure to also check out the giant board and farmcade games tucked away in the corner too! Life Hack: We do the farmfun part last so it tires out the kids before going home so it makes the evening a bit more chill.
